Flowers and Ideas

Having planted flowers this year, some from seed and others from the store-bought-plant stage, I wonder why some survive so easily, almost effortlessly, and others wither.

Similarly, the many ideas I hold day to day in the form of tiny mental seeds may or may not come to blossom. I store seeds of ideas about things I want to achieve and create, lessons I want to teach my child and learn myself, degrees I want to earn, and people I intend to see. Like my beloved flowers, some of these seeds arise and blossom into actions and even life changes, while others become stunted and dissolve.

Today I am sitting back and watching this arising and falling, seeking to understand the factors that give way to the flourishing of my intentions.
